What Is Collagen?

Collagen is a protein. In fact, it is the most abundant protein in the human body.

It’s in our bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, muscles, cartilage and more. In fact, the only substance more abundant than collagen in the human body is water! Collagen is the protein contained in animal bones and the connective tissue surrounding the bones.

Collagen is made up of amino acids and is especially rich in three key amino acids – glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline.

• Joints
• Muscles
• Digestion
• Inflammation
• Appetite
• Metabolism
• Brain
• Sleep

By the way, Collagen and Gelatin (i.e. cooked collagen) are favorites among followers of the Paleo Diet and the Weston A Price diet.

The Collagen Level In Our Body Starts To Decline After Age 20!
